VMAS

So I don't have internet access right now and am posting from my blackberry, but did anyone catch the MTV Video Music Awards tonight? First off, kudos to Beyonce for being a very classy lady! But secondly, did you catch Pink and Shakira wearing the same Balmine dress on the red carpet?! Who do you think wore it best?

Longer post tomorrow about VMA fashion AND fashion week!

5 things - Charlotte Russe

Originally I first posted 5 things under 15 but now I've come to see that's a little bit tricky... so how about 5 things under $20?! We'll go with Charlotte Russe since I was just there yesterday and practically wanted to buy the whole dang place.

1) I bought this actually and have it on today with leggings and flip-flops. Simple and cute! The top is only $16.99.

2.) I love when things are already layered for me! I do not love when you can totally tell. This you can't AT ALL. It's $19.99 for the solid top and vest.

3) Some might say I have too many tops... but that's not a bad thing. Another pretty top you can wear out on the town or to class! On sale for $11.19!

4) Ok so I didn't fall in love with this immediately but I really needed some new clothes for my study tour so I tried it on.. and I loved it! Another item on sale for only $16.09.

5) And last but not least, you need something to go under the clothes! This pretty bra is only $7! Get a pair of panties and $3 and you're still under 20!

Doie Designs

Doie Designs is designed by Sara Kirsner, a California native. She uses earth friendly materials on all her pieces including bamboo jersey, organic cotton, organic wool, or 100% silk. I'm featuring this because not only are her designs fashionable, but they're produced locally in L.A. where Sara and I reside!

Right now most of the collections are on sale, including the most recent Spring '09 collection which just happens to be titled, "Los Angeles Collection" and it's 50% off!! Check out the versatile pieces which can be transitioned easily as fallwear and come in many colors!

JenGen

For those of you who have seen Breakfast at Tiffany's... I'm sure you all remember the opening scene with her earplugs and eyemask. You would think these would be one of a kind and only Holly Golightly could own something so beautiful but now you can too! Thanks to Earplugs by Jen Gen you can even own them with long or short tassels or in another color! The best part? Only $5.99 a pair!!! I love my new earplugs that block out the city traffic while looking fabulous! Now does anyone know where to get the eyemask?!

Characters Closets I Want To Steal

Breakfast at Tiffani's - the name of my blog... obviously a big fan of Audrey Hepburn and the movie. So watching it last night, I got the inspiration for this post.. and in no particular order is the top ten movie and television characters styles I want to steal.

1.) Breakfast At Tiffany's - Classic is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this movie. This is in regards to the fashion and the movie. The little black dress can be credited from this film, so it has to be in this list.

2.) The Notebook - This is also filled with very feminine and classic looks that I love.

3.) Gossip Girl - It's on tv, but how can you not include this?! I've already posted about Blair's style a few times.. but all of the girls have looks to kill for.

4.) Sex And The City - Both the movie and the tv show! Another one you HAVE to mention. The shoes alone I'd do anything for!

5.) 500 Days of Summer - I went to see this movie because I love Zooey Deschanel... but I ended up loving her look in this movie even more!

6.) The Devil Wears Prada - Love love love every style in this movie. Can I please be Anne Hathaway?
7.) Marie Antoinette - When I was little I used to love poodle skirts and wished I grew up in the 50s... well now that I'm older.. I wish I grew up in the days of tall hair and hoop skirts. Let me in that costume closet and I'd be in heaven.

8.) Clueless - I was younger when this movie came out and I was even Cher for Halloween one year.. yes, I know it's embarrassing.. I still knew she was a style icon though! Not that I'd wear her stuff today..
9.) Confessions of A Shopaholic - The girl goes in debt from shopping too much, obviously she's going to have a closet to die for.

Ok, so not quite the top 10.... who should be last???

LBD

With fall coming, you're going to need more layers on but don't put away that little black dress of yours just yet. Using just a simple black strapless dress, you can do tons. This one from Forever21 is only $22.80 and you can create over 5 different looks with it.

1) The first look is for daytime, just adding a crop jacket. I liked this one, also from Forever21. Add some over the knee boots and it's a cute outfit you can even wear to work. (Boots from
Victorias secret, click on links)

2) The next look is just for a night out - add a flashy belt and heels (both from steve madden) and voila!

3) For a third look, a chunky sweater, wide belt, and metallic flats which are very hot right now - you can wear this look just about anywhere. The flats are on the pricier side, found at Nordstrom's, but I LOVE them!

4) The 4th option is another going out/date look where a big statement necklace makes your outfit. Pair with your favorite color heels and steal the show.

5) And the last, but definitely not least way to dress up your LBD is with a yellow blazer - Blair Waldorf style. Add some laceup oxfords for a preppy twist to the LBD. Have fun with it girls!
