5 under 20 - Alloy

I haven't done a real relevant post in quite some time and I apologize. I also haven't done a "5 under" either and with budgeting for the holidays I figured it was the perfect time!

Alloy used to be one of my favorite catalogs in high school and then I just kind of forgot about it. I recently received a catalog in the mail at my parents and was browsing through it and they actually have a lot of things I would definitely wear - and cheap to boot!

I love love love cardigans. Especially the trendy boyfriend style cardigans that you can pair with all those summer tanks you can't bear to put away for the winter! Wear this either with jeans or a dress - it works for most everything!

This top is super cheap and available in 19 different colors!!
I'm a sucker for a good deal.. especially when it comes to heels. Which is exactly why I bought these for only $14.99!!
I really love berets this year for winter. I already have 7 of them! I won't be purchasing this one since it hasn't even snowed yet and I had an abundance of them, but you should!

Cowboy Boots

One person commented about the plaid shirts, "that she didn't want to look like a farmer." Now that's exactly how I first felt about cowboy boots. There's so many cute ways you can wear them though, read on!

The most girly way I've seen is of course with a dress, a la Taylor Swift.

She pairs her boots with cute summery dresses, but with fall coming up you can still steal this style with leggings. A big trend is thick, patterned leggings that you can wea
r even in the winter! I have found them at H&M, but if you like to shop online, stockingirl.com has a GREAT selection. I like this look with simple boots, either a bright dress or leggings, and a cardigan.

Just remember Taylor Swift is a country star and can pull this look off daily and we common folk should just wear them every once in awhile. To avoid looking over-the-top, unless you're going to a country concert, then don't pair these with daisy dukes or the plaid shirts in the previous post, or you will look like you just got off the farm.

The most classic cowboy boot look is under jeans. This is very easy to wear, but I suggest jeans with more of a flare so your calves don't look bulky because of the thickness at the top of the boot.

You can also wear those new denim leggings or bust out your skinny jeans and wear the boots over the jeans. Again, don't wear plaid or big belts to tone-down the farmer look. Try to pair with something a little more edgier.
Now where to buy these cute boots without breaking the bank? (Click the link)

Plaid Shirts

I'm a big fan of the plaid/flannel shirt look. If you layer it over a fitted tank/tee, your favorite pair of jeans, and high-heeled boots - you can get a grunge meets girly look. Some even have frills on them for a more girly look. OH, and you can basically find these shirts EVERYWHERE.

Lindsay Plaid Tunic - Alloy $29.90
Snap Front Buffalo Tunic - Wet Seal $17.70
Kimchi Buttonfront Tunic - Urban Outfitters $58
Elisa Plaid Shirt - Delias $39.50
